I want to comment on the work of Taproot Theatre Company’s artists, staff and teachers…including a sort of journal of rehearsals and projects. I’ll include observations and photos of conferences I get to, shows I see, travels, books I’m reading (and maybe finishing) and various musings on theatre, culture, faith and life.

Who am I?
I'm Scott Nolte, producing artistic director of Taproot Theatre Company, and a second generation, native born Seattleite married to an actress who's also a co-founder of TTC. We have two kids: a daughter in college, and a son who's an actor touring the country with an educational theatre. As a co-founder of TTC and its producing artistic director, I'm fortunate to have opportunities to observe and participate in the efforts of my TTC staff and artists, other theatres and arts organizations, churches and friends to make this a better world. The banner photo at the top. It may be in Italy or Little Italy, NY. Don't know, but I like it. My daughter, Lisa, and I consider ourselves honorary Italians even though the genes say Norweigan, German, British and even Native American. The sunny climes of the Mediterranean beckon...but Seattle is fine for now!

Causing a scene
Can anyone save us from the aging subscribers and rank commercialism that has paralyzed our city’s stages? Our Theater editor comes to the rescue.
